Tall buildings "thrive" and "grow" much more in Limassol than anywhere else, as the passport program gives "height" to its urban planning by bringing together two-thirds of high-rise buildings that have applied for urban planning permits.

According to data as of July 31, 2020, 85 applications for the construction of buildings from 11 to 43 floors, most of which concern the Cypriot investment program, have secured the consent of the Director of Urban Planning, as provided by law. which provides investments of €2 000 000 with luxury real estate.

This number does not include the twin towers, 25 floors each, of the Ayia Napa marina and the high-rise buildings of Nicosia, including the "360" tower, which has 34 floors and is the tallest building ever erected (completed in 2019), until today in Cyprus.

This is because for Nicosia, the data refer only to cases outside the area of the center of the capital, because according to the Nicosia Center Area Plan 2016, the consent of the director of town planning is not required for applications that fall within the limits of this plan.

For Nicosia, therefore, a total of 6 urban planning applications were submitted outside the city center, for buildings from 11 to 15 floors.

Lead in Limassol

In Limassol, where the first tall building was built as part of the investment program in 2012 consisting of the twin towers of 20 floors each and The Oval 16 floors in 2014, a total of 54 tall buildings from 11 to 45 floors have been licensed almost all along coastline of the city. This number constitutes 64% of the pending applications in urban planning.

The distribution is as follows: From 11 to 15 floors, 24 permits were issued. From 16 - 20 floors 14 permits. From 21 - 25 floors 5 permits and from 26 floors and above 11 permits were issued.

The project with the tallest building, which is in progress is the "Limassol Neo" of Pafilia, consisting of four towers 43, 38, 31, 25 floors.

And yet Larnaca follows

In Larnaca, which is now claiming a place on the map of cities with tall buildings, 17 applications were approved as follows: For buildings from 11 to 15 floors, 13 applications were approved by the town planning, from 16 to 20 floors, two applications were approved. From 21 to 25 floors an application. The director of town planning also lit the green in an application for a multi-storey building over 26 floors.

Paphos is also in the dance of the high-rises buildings

Paphos also approved 8 applications for tall buildings as follows: For buildings from 11 to 15 floors 4 applications. From 16 to 20 floors 3 applications and one application for a building up to 25 floors.

In particular, the director of town planning lit the green in 47 applications for the construction of buildings from 11 to 15 floors, in 19 applications for buildings from 16 to 20 floors, in 7 applications from 21 to 25 floors and two applications for towers over 26 floors.
