In 2022, Paphos is waiting for a cardinal transformation.
Recently, the municipality of the city announced tenders for large projects, the total cost of which will exceed 9 million euros (including VAT).
Next year reconstruction will take place in the traditional center of the Anavargos area and the southern part of the traditional commercial center of Paphos. 5.4 million euros were allocated for this. The implementation period of these projects will be 12 months.
In 2022, Panagia Theoskepasti Square and the adjacent roads to the Almyra Hotel in Kato Paphos will be completely modernized. The estimated cost of this work will be 3.6 million euros, and the duration will be 12 months.
Tenders from participants are accepted until January 17, 2022.

It is worth noting that on Thursday, December 23, the municipality of Paphos also started demolishing old dilapidated buildings in the city center.
Cafes, restaurants, designer shops, antique shops are expected to appear on the site of abandoned dilapidated houses, neglected gardens and vacant lots.
Earlier, the Mayor of Paphos Fedonas Fedonos also signed an agreement on the reconstruction of the municipal market and shopping area, which is located around the buildings of the PEO trade union in the city center.
The cost of the project is estimated at 500 thousand euros.
In addition, after the old buildings belonging to the Cyprus Tourism Organization are demolished, a new modern square will be created opposite the Almyra Hotel. As part of the improvement, some roads will become one-way.
