A new chapter in the luxury leisure segment is beginning in Paphos. Recently, Louis Hotels announced a large-scale transformation of the Louis Imperial Beach hotel into the modern Imperial Island Resort — a 5-star premium family resort that will become part of the prestigious Elegant Collection of the chain.
The official opening of the fully renovated complex is scheduled for May. The rebranding and modernization reflect the growing demand for high-quality all inclusive holidays in Cyprus, especially among families with children and travelers seeking high-level comfort by the sea. Today, Paphos remains one of the island’s most popular destinations thanks to its mild climate, developed infrastructure, and direct air connections with European countries.
Large-scale renovation: next-generation comfort
The resort reconstruction is taking place in two stages to fully renew the holiday concept while preserving a cozy atmosphere. The first phase started at the end of October 2025 and will last until May 3, 2026. The focus is on a complete renovation of rooms and public spaces.
All premises and bathrooms are undergoing major refurbishment, and more than 50% of the accommodation stock is being redesigned into spacious family suites. The new layouts include sliding doors for additional privacy, which is especially important for guests traveling with children. Interiors are designed in a modern Mediterranean style with an emphasis on light tones, natural materials, and functionality. This transformation aligns with the latest trends in the Cyprus hospitality market, where the focus is shifting toward boutique formats, higher service levels, and family-friendly amenities.
Premium all inclusive gastronomic concept
The renovation has also affected the restaurant infrastructure. Imperial Island Resort will offer an expanded gastronomic concept focused on variety and high quality. Guests will be able to visit a modernized main restaurant serving Greek, Cypriot, and international cuisine. Special attention will be drawn to the refined Japanese restaurant FIKI, designed for lovers of Asian gastronomy. Those who prefer a more informal format will enjoy Pygmalion with signature burgers, while Snackeria will provide hot and cold snacks throughout the day. This approach strengthens the resort’s position in the luxury all inclusive category in Cyprus, where dining is becoming an important element of the tourist experience.

Second phase: private waterpark and new pools
The second phase of modernization is scheduled for the period from November 20, 2026 to March 31, 2027. It includes the creation of a full-scale waterpark with water slides and splash zones, which will significantly expand opportunities for family leisure.
During this period, the hotel will also install two large pools for adults and a specially designed children’s pool with water attractions. The garden area will be completely reimagined: landscape designers will create calm green spaces for relaxation and outdoor leisure.
Infrastructure development aligns with the overall trend in Cyprus’s tourism industry, where resorts invest in comprehensive on-site entertainment to increase the average length of guest stays and make holidays more engaging.
Paphos strengthens its position as a tourism center of Cyprus
The opening of Imperial Island Resort strengthens the status of Paphos as one of the island’s key tourism centers. In recent years, the region has actively attracted investment into the hospitality sector, offering modern resorts, historical attractions, and developed beach infrastructure.
The renovated 5-star complex is expected to become an important addition to the premium market segment and attract both European tourists and guests from Middle Eastern countries. Thanks to the combination of luxury, a family-oriented format, and expanded infrastructure, Imperial Island Resort promises to become one of the most talked-about hotel projects in Cyprus in the coming years.
