On Monday, 23rd December, the Cypriot Ministry of the Interior announced that the programme "Housing Subsidies for Young Couples and/or Persons under 41" is very popular among Cypriots.
It is therefore intended to extend its duration. Incidentally, since the launch of the government scheme in October 2024, the authority has received 163 applications from potential beneficiaries. Interest remains high. Meanwhile, the current phase of the
will end on 31 December 2024. The plan is to provide housing subsidies to 400 people up to the age of 41. Both single persons and married couples are eligible. The total budget for the scheme is estimated at €15 million.
According to the Ministry, the scheme will be relaunched in January 2025. It will be revised taking into account the feedback and wishes of Cypriot citizens. The electronic platform will operate until the total number of beneficiaries applying for subsidies reaches 400.
The main criterion for participation in the Youth Programme is the annual income, which must not exceed
- 25 thousand euros for single persons;
- 45 thousand euros - for families with two adults or single parents;
- 50 thousand euros - for families with three members;
- 55 thousand euros - for families with four or more members.
The maximum financial support that applicants can expect varies between 20,000 and 50,000 euros, depending on the composition of the family.
