On Wednesday 30 April, the Cyprus Tax Department announced the start of the acceptance of personal income tax returns for 2024.
According to the department, the deadline for filing is 31 July 2025.
Income can only be declared electronically. To do so, you must first register (in person) with the tax office at your place of residence, where an official will issue you a Tax Identification Code (TIC) consisting of eight digits and a Latin letter (e.g. 99999999X). The applicant will be given a unique 17-digit registration number. You must then create an account on the TaxisNet portal and complete a declaration.
Instructions on how to register on the TaxisNet portal in English (in PDF format).
We would like to remind you that the 2024 declarations must be completed by persons whose income (before tax) exceeds €19,500. In addition, individuals with income exceeding €19,500 from property rental, royalties, pensions, dividends, interest and securities must also file a tax return.
It should be noted that if a tax resident of Cyprus whose income exceeds €19,500 per year fails to file a tax return on time, he or she is liable to a fine of €100 plus 5% of the amount of tax due for the year. If you have any questions regarding the completion of your tax return or the payment of tax, you can contact the Information Service on 22 308000 for clarification.
