The Cyprus Tax Department has extended the deadline for filing 2024 tax returns to September 30.
This gives Cyprus residents additional time to report their income.
As a reminder, filing a tax return is mandatory for all persons whose income (before tax) exceeds €19,500. Additionally, individuals with income exceeding €19,500 from property rentals, royalties, pensions, dividends, interest, or securities must file a tax return. Please note that if a Cyprus tax resident whose income exceeds €19,500 per year fails to file a tax return on time, they will be fined €100 plus 5% of the amount of tax owed for the year.
Income can only be reported electronically.
First, register in person with the tax department at your place of residence, where a responsible employee will issue you a Tax Identification Code (TIC). A TIC consists of eight digits and one Latin letter (for example, 99999999X).
(for example, 99999999X).
You will then receive a unique registration number consisting of 17 digits. Next, create an account on the TaxisNet portal and fill out a declaration. You can find instructions on how to register on the TaxisNet portal in English in PDF format.
