On Monday 20 May, the Cyprus Revenue Authority announced the start of the acceptance of personal income tax returns for 2023.
According to the department, the deadline for filing returns is 31 July 2024.
At the same time, it is possible to declare income electronically only. To do this, you must first register at the tax office of your place of residence (personal presence is required), where the responsible official will issue a Tax Identification Code (TIC) consisting of eight digits and a Latin letter (e.g. 9999999999X).
The applicant will be given a unique 17-digit registration number. You must then create an account on the TaxisNet portal and complete the declaration. Instructions on how to register on the TaxisNet portal in English (in PDF format).
We would like to remind you that the 2023 declaration must be filled in by persons whose income (before tax deductions) exceeds 19.5 thousand euros. In addition, the declaration must be completed by individuals whose income exceeds 19.5 thousand euros from rental property, royalties, pensions, dividends, interest and securities.
It should be noted that if a tax resident of Cyprus whose income exceeds 19.5 thousand euros per year does not submit a tax return on time, he/she will be fined 100 euros plus 5% of the tax due for the year.
