The company Leptos Calypso Hotels Public Ltd has submitted an updated application to the Department of Environmental Protection for the expansion of the Coral Beach Hotel & Resort complex in Paphos.
According to the release, the developer intends to construct three new buildings on the hotel grounds, with heights of 6, 7, and 8 floors and a total capacity of 194 rooms. Previously, Leptos Calypso Hotels Public Ltd wanted to build two high-rise buildings of 13 and 11 floors in the same location, where 2-storey residences and 3-storey hotels are permitted. Additionally, the developer plans to add two additional floors to the old hotel buildings, which will accommodate 96 more rooms.
The spacious and comfortable rooms will be decorated in an elegant modern style with pleasant pastel tones, and balconies will offer stunning panoramic views of the Mediterranean Sea. The design and interior of each room have been carefully thought out and designed to provide guests with a unique experience. The project also includes reception and accommodation areas, a restaurant in the main building and one on the beach, lounges, a spa, and a gym, as well as two underground two-level parking lots, which will be built under the existing tennis courts and new buildings.
The cost of the project is estimated at 45 million euros.
Cyprus considers tourism to be a critical component of its economy.
Hundreds of thousands of foreign guests visit the island annually, and their numbers are growing rapidly. According to the latest data from the Deputy Ministry of Tourism, there are more than 800 hotels on the island that can accommodate over 80,000 tourists. Despite this, there is a severe shortage of hotels in the country.
Fortunately, this situation is gradually changing for the better, thanks to the construction of new and renovation of old hotel units. Investors are actively investing money in this direction.
