Ayia Napa will soon be home to a new 34,000m2 public space.
A major infrastructure project has begun in the coastal town.
In just 16 months, locals and visitors to Ayia Napa will be able to relax and stroll through a beautiful park that will appear at the intersection of Agia Mavri and Yannis Ritsou streets.
According to the press release, the park will have a central square, a walking area with pavilions and cafes, a children's playground, an artificial lake, a botanical garden, a mosaic square, a viewing platform with panoramic views of Ayia Napa and the sea, kiosks for the sale of local products during various events, a pedestrian bridge, a car park for 50 cars (including for people with disabilities) and public buildings. According to the municipality's plan, the park will be able to unite the western and eastern coasts of the city.
It is recalled that the project will be implemented by Wade Adams Contracting (Cyprus) Ltd, with whom the local mayor's office signed a contract in October 2024.
The cost of building the park is estimated at €4.21 million plus VAT. Funding for the project has been allocated under the EU-funded THALEIA 2021-2027 Cohesion Programme. The park in Ayia Napa is expected to become a new attraction for the town, attracting hundreds of Cypriots and tourists every year.
