According to new data released by the Cyprus Statistical Service on Friday, August 9, the construction materials price index reached 117.65 points in July 2024 (on a 2015 basis = 100), a decrease of 0.36% compared to the corresponding month of the previous year.
The largest price decrease among construction materials in July 2024 was recorded for metal products (-3.94%). On the other hand, there were price increases for wood products, insulation materials, chemicals and plastics (+0.54%), minerals (+0.98%), electro-mechanical products (+3.35%) and mineral products (+0.75%).
The price index for construction products reflects the change in prices for the construction of objects of different types of economic activity.
In turn, the price index for construction materials from January to July decreased by 1.45% compared to the same period of the previous year.
At the same time, the largest decreases were registered for metal products (-1.43%), wood products, insulating materials, chemicals and plastics (-0.12%). On the other hand, the prices of electromechanical products and mineral products will increase by 2.06% and 0.76% respectively.
