The construction of the City of Dreams Mediterranean is complete in Limassol.
On Thursday, May 11th, Melco Resorts & Entertainment announced the official opening date of the new integrated casino resort. According to the company, this long-awaited event will take place on July 10th.
Recall that the City of Dreams Mediterranean started accepting room reservations earlier. However, the exact date when the massive complex will open its doors to customers has constantly changed.
Note that the project started in 2017. Initially, the City of Dreams Mediterranean was supposed to open to visitors in 2021. However, the project's delivery dates were postponed several times.
The casino resort, owned by the consortium of Melco International Development Ltd and The Cyprus Phassouri (Zakaki) Limited, is located near the New Port in Limassol (between the Akrotiri salt lake and the My Mall shopping center).
The casino is part of a luxurious 500-room hotel that features 136 gaming tables and 1200 slot machines. The resort also has an exhibition center of 9.6 thousand m2, a concert hall for 1.5 thousand people, a spa center of 4 thousand m2, as well as restaurants and entertainment clubs.
The City of Dreams Mediterranean is the largest investment project ever undertaken in Cyprus. Its value is estimated at more than 650 million euros. According to the Cyprus government's estimates, the City of Dreams Mediterranean will bring up to 700 million euros into the country's treasury each year. This is 4% of the entire GDP of the Republic of Cyprus. In addition, the City of Dreams Mediterranean will attract an additional 300,000 tourists to the island each year, helping to solve the problem of tourism seasonality.
