Bank of Cyprus won two awards at the annual Boussias Cyprus Responsible Awards.
Specifically, the largest Cypriot financial institution won in the Long-Term Investment category. The jury noted the Bank's significant contribution to the establishment of the Bank of Cyprus Cancer Centre. In fact, the bank has been supporting the project financially since its inception and has so far provided a total of €70 million for its development. In addition, Bank of Cyprus took home the statuette in the Investment Cooperation - Local Community-State category for its SupportCY network. This initiative aims to support the Ministry of Agriculture, Rural Development and the Environment by providing equipment to fight forest fires. The Bank's management said that the financial institution continues to be a key supporter, both through its member companies in the network and the ever-growing group of SupportCY volunteers.
Upon receiving the awards, Corporate Social Responsibility Manager Elli Ioannidou said that "Bank of Cyprus has consistently demonstrated its role in Cypriot society and will continue to provide strong support in every possible way during challenging moments, whether it be in the areas of health, education or the environment."
