The list of 25 small boutique hotels currently operating in Larnaca will be supplemented by at least 9 new facilities in 2024.
This was announced by the Municipality of the coastal city on Monday, January 1, based on the applications received from interested investors.
The Municipality noted that in recent years Larnaca has been actively developing the tourism industry and projects related to this area. Thus, since 2021, the municipal authorities have received a total of 18 new applications for the construction of hotels within the city. During the same period, 20 licenses have been issued (they also apply to applications from previous years). Another 12 applications are pending.
In addition to small boutique hotels, there is a keen interest from large chains to build large scale hotel complexes in Larnaca. This gives a huge boost to tourism and the city as a whole, which has lagged behind Limassol, Nicosia and Paphos in previous years.
The municipality stressed that the largest number of foreign visitors vacationing in Larnaca are interested in staying in hotels in the city center, in order to have easy access to both stores and the beach. Therefore, Agios Lazaros has been the most popular area for investment for many years. Often here old houses are bought out and converted into small but cozy hotels.

Among the large chains that are present in Larnaca, we can highlight the hotel giant Accor. The company opened in October last year a resort called Mercure Beach Resort on the coast of Oroklini. And by 2025, Accor plans to acquire several boutique hotels in the center of Larnaca.
In addition, the construction of a hotel by Quality Group on Makariou Avenue, which will operate under the Holiday Inn Express brand, is at an advanced stage. It is expected to open in 2025. Finally, the fully renovated luxury Palm Beach Hotel will open its doors in 2026.
