A bee farm called Apianthos Beekeeping Center will be established in Cyprus.
On Friday, May 12th, the Cyprus Department of Environmental Protection approved the construction of the new project, owned by BIOSOLEA-BIOLOGIKI SOLEA LTD.
The new center will be built in the village of Temvria, in the Nicosia district, on a plot of land measuring 7,024 m2. The construction will commence in September 2023 and will last for one year.
The project involves the construction of a single-story building covering an area of 1,480 m2.
The center will have a store, a tasting room, a kitchen, an apitherapy room, storage for beehives and wax, a laundry room, a workshop, and sanitary facilities. Auxiliary rooms, a storage area, and a refrigeration chamber will be located in the basement. To accommodate visitors, a parking area with 13 parking spaces will be provided near the center.
Apianthos Beekeeping Center will engage in the entire honey production cycle and support beekeeping, from the construction and maintenance of hives and honeycombs to the processing of beeswax and the collection and bottling of honey. The center will house approximately 500 beehives, with an estimated annual honey production of around 10 tons.
The project is estimated to cost 1.2 million euros.
