One of the largest projects in Cyprus has become one step closer to implementation.
The other day it became known that an Israeli investor bought a huge plot of land for 13.5 million euros for the construction of a new medical center in Nicosia.
The land, whose area is more than 100 thousand m2, is located in the prestigious metropolitan area of Lakatamia. Thus, as soon as the license is obtained, the construction of a new medical facility will begin in Nicosia.
According to the release, the hospital will cover an area of 23 thousand m2 and provide a range of medical services, some of which have never been provided in Cypriot hospitals before. The rehabilitation center at the hospital will offer its patients postoperative recovery, as well as assistance to people suffering from chronic diseases and substance abuse. The clinic will also operate a hotel for relatives of patients.
The hospital will serve patients under the GESY General Health Insurance Scheme. The largest medical institution in Cyprus will offer comprehensive inpatient care services.
As you may know, in November 2020, MMC (HC Management of Medical Center PLC) entered into an agreement with Hadassah Medical Ltd regarding the construction of a new medical center in Nicosia and a diagnostic center in Limassol.
Hadassah Medical Ltd is a subsidiary of Hadassah Medical Organization, which was founded in Israel in 1934 and since then has been providing a full range of medical services to both Israeli citizens and residents of other countries.
The total cost of the Israeli investment in a new medical center in Nicosia and a diagnostic center in Limassol is estimated at 90 million euros. Of these: 80 million euros will be spent on the construction of a hospital in Nicosia, and 10 million euros on the construction of a diagnostic center in Limassol.
It is worth noting that earlier the Israeli investor also bought a piece of land in the same area from Gordian Holdings. Thanks to this, he has at his disposal a territory with a total area of 200 thousand m2, which provides not only a modern medical center, but also a medical school. By the way, an agreement was recently signed with one of the best universities in Israel, which will supervise the educational institution.
In addition, a large park will be equipped in this area, seven residential high-rise buildings, office and commercial buildings, as well as a hotel will be built.
