Larnaca's Skala neighborhood has a new attraction for tourists and locals.
An artists' park has been commissioned in the city.
The modern public space is located just north of Piale Pasha Street, which runs from Larnaca Fort along the sea. Note that the project is an initiative of the Larnaca Tourism Development and Promotion Company. In particular, the organization considers the area of Skala as a "diamond in the rough" with great prospects for tourism, as it is one of the few locations in the city that remains completely authentic, which is especially appealing to foreign visitors. As the area is not very interested in modern developers, it retains much of its traditional character, with white small houses with colorful window frames.
Recall that the project was realized by C. Roushas Trading & Development Ltd.
Its tasks included creation of a paved square, installation of modern lighting and comfortable benches, as well as landscaping of the territory. The new public space is located on a plot of land previously owned by Turkish-Cypriots and now leased to Larnaca Municipality. The park has been named "Mesogios". It is expected to allow artists to create and place their artistic works. It will also host cultural events.
The project cost is estimated at 600 thousand euros (plus VAT). Part of the money was allocated from the European Union's environmental, maritime affairs and fisheries budget.
