On Tuesday, October 5, the Cyprus Department of the Environment approved a renovation project for the large Aktea Beach Village hotel complex.
Soon Aktaia Tourist Enterprises Ltd will demolish 12 buildings on the territory of the hotel, and erect a new modern elite 5-star building with 182 rooms with underground parking.
The company intends to carry out a complete modernization of the remaining buildings, which are designed for 72 rooms. After the completion of the reconstruction, the capacity of the hotel complex will be 254 rooms.
The facility is located on Neophytou Poullou Street in Ayia Napa and is included in the tourist area, where the construction of houses of no more than 3 floors is permissible.
The reconstruction of the tourist complex will take place in 3 stages:
- at the first, the developer will demolish the old buildings and erect a new building
- on the second floor - equips a new restaurant, bar, kitchen and terrace on the 1st floor, as well as a themed restaurant on the 2nd floor of the main building
- on the third, it will re-equip the mezzanine floor into a mechanical one.
According to preliminary estimates, the project is estimated at 2 million euros, the approximate period of its implementation will be 18 months.
As you may know, Aktea Beach Village is a 4-star hotel in the center of Ayia Napa, just 200 meters from Nissi and Sandy beaches.
It was built in 2003. The existing hotel complex is designed for 148 rooms and consists of a main 3-storey building, as well as 21 apartment buildings.
