A residential complex of 69 luxury villas will be built in Paphos

The Cyprus Department of Environmental Protection has received an application on behalf of PMI Peyia Mare Investment Ltd and Golden Island Homes for the construction of a large-scale residential complex in Paphos.

According to the department, the investors intend to build 69 luxury homes within the administrative boundaries of Peyia municipality, in the tourist zone T3b, near the Akamas National Forest Park. Each mansion will have 2 ground floors and a basement, as well as a swimming pool on the adjacent territory. The development includes a 2-storey clubhouse with basement including common areas on the first floor and two apartments on the second floor.

In addition, the project includes an internal private road network and a municipal wastewater treatment plant (biological plant). The treated wastewater from the biological plant will be used to irrigate gardens during the summer months and crops during the winter months in the wider area, following the City's wastewater treatment plant discharge permit, which must be obtained before construction and operation of the development.

.

The cost of the project is estimated at 100 million euros.

They intend to put the residential complex into operation within 12 months from the moment of obtaining all necessary permits.

It should be noted that the total area of the development site will be 101 315 m2, of which 28 825 m2 is included in the Natura 2000 network. In this regard, the office of IACO Environmental & Water Consultants Ltd has conducted a special environmental study that analyzes the possible effects of artificial lighting on the environment and all the measures for the prevention and protection of flora and fauna in the wider area. The report focuses on the proper design of the lighting to limit the impact on the area and on the adaptation of local turtles in the project. Four methods of luminescence reduction are proposed as a result of the study.
