Paphos municipality continues to encourage residents to take an interest in sport.
It was recently announced that Paphos will have a new skateboarding area.
It will be part of the recently completed Andreas Stylianides Park in the Gerosipou area. It should be noted that the equipment for the new green space has been provided by Korantina Homes. They also decided to build a skateboard area. The main goal is to create a modern public space that will be visited by both children and adults of the region.
It is worth noting that Paphos will now have two full-fledged skate parks.
One of them is located in the 'Park of Colours', which was also recently commissioned. The initiative to create a skateboard was taken by local schoolchildren, who wrote a petition to the mayor, who could not refuse to include the children's request in the project.
Work on the project took more than 2 years. The result is a new public space at the intersection of Ellados Avenue and Evagoras Pallikaridis Avenue:
- A café,
- a skate park,
- a tennis court,
- a botanical garden,
- a 3.6 metre high climbing wall,
- A basketball court,
- A children's playground,
- a small football pitch,
- green areas,
- Outdoor exhibition area,
- sanitary facilities,
- a car park with 83 spaces, including spaces for people with disabilities.
There is no doubt that the long awaited development of parks in Paphos will have a positive impact on the development of Paphos and the new parks will become a point of attraction for residents and visitors alike.
