Bright Era Education has announced the purchase of a complex of buildings in Paphos, formerly home to the American Academy School.
The new owner plans to refurbish all the buildings and almost 7 hectares of land.
A new public school, Lumio, is expected to open in September 2024 and will operate as a not-for-profit organisation. All income from the school's work will be used exclusively for its development.
.
The redevelopment plan includes the creation of modern classrooms, fully equipped science and IT labs, as well as dedicated areas for art and sports.
A wide range of extra-curricular activities will be available to Lumio students, using a variety of sports pitches designed for tennis, football, basketball and volleyball. The new public school will offer an International Baccalaureate Diploma programme designed to provide students with a comprehensive and globally competitive education. The primary language of instruction will be English, but the school will provide additional classes for non-English speaking children.
Prioritising the education of our children and reinvesting income in the development of the school and students is of paramount importance to us. Our mission is to embrace local and global cultures through high quality education that respects each individual's unique identity and to ensure that teachers and students enjoy their time at the school. We look forward to opening Lumio in September and remain committed to supporting educational initiatives for future generations," said Bright Era Education.
