The Cyprus Department of the Environment is considering an application for the construction of a new linear park in the Peyia area (Paphos).
The project cost is estimated at 500 thousand euros.
According to the release, the total building area will be 15 310 m2. The project will include a large playground, archery center, skate park, geological park, spacious parking and green areas.
It is worth noting that the project will be implemented on state land, along the bed of the Xeropotamos River.
The park is scheduled to be completed in six months after receiving all the necessary permits.
The Department of the Environment noted that in the context of the urban planning licensing of the project, a hydrological and hydraulic study was prepared to assess the flood risk in the proposed development.
The main goal is to create a green space that will become a place of attraction for residents and visitors of the region. The park is expected to receive around 100 visitors daily during the summer season, taking into account typical seasonal percentage fluctuations based on local hotel occupancy.
