The Cyprus Environmental Protection Department has issued a permit for the implementation of a major project by Frontarico Ltd.
According to the notification, the developer intends to build a multi-functional complex near the village of Palodia (Limassol district). The total built-up area will be 310,352 m2. The net area remaining after the allocation of land for public roads, public green areas and social facilities will be approximately 228,835m2.
The project will include: residential and commercial buildings, a university, dormitories, a cultural centre, a research and development centre, a photovoltaic park, a multi-storey car park and food and leisure areas. Construction will begin as soon as the necessary documents have been received.

The project will be carried out in three phases.
The first phase will include:
- Construction of the main part of the university's main building.
- Construction of one of the three halls of residence.
- Construction of the western part of the residential complex.
- Construction of a multi-storey car park.
- Construction of the main building of the Research and Development Centre, which will include both leisure and commercial facilities.
The second phase will include:
- Completion of the remainder of the main university building.
- Construction of some university facilities.
- Construction of a second student accommodation block, including underground car parking.
- Construction of a residential area to the east of the development site.
- Continuation of work on the research centre.
The third phase will include:
- Completion of university facilities.
- Completion of student accommodation.
- Completion of the construction of a single residential complex.
- Completion of the research and development centre.
It should be noted that the land on which the new complex will be built is located 1.6 kilometres from the National Forest Park 'Polemidia'. According to the Environmental Protection Agency, there are no Natura 2000 sites in or near this area.
