Larnaca has finalised the results of the tender for the construction of a new multi-purpose centre to be located in the Dromolaxia and Meneou communities.
On Thursday 29 August, the mayor of the municipality, Kypros Andronikou, signed the contract with the winning contractor.
Work on the major project is expected to start as early as October this year. It will be financed by European funds.
According to the press release, the developer will have to construct a large building with a total area of more than 3,000 m2 on a plot of land next to the Meneu primary school, opposite the church of St Panteleimon. It will include
- A reception area that will function as an exhibition space;
- A multifunctional space for events, lectures and seminars;
- Workshops for practical training;
- A cafeteria;
- Sanitary facilities;
- other facilities.
The project also includes the landscaping and gardening of the area around the new centre, the installation of modern municipal equipment and the construction of a large car park.
The new multifunctional centre is an important project that will offer alternative leisure activities to the inhabitants of the municipality of Dromolaxa-Meneu, especially to young people,' said the mayor.
