The first phase of the construction of the new Mental Health Centre in Nicosia has been completed.
This was announced on Friday 25 October by the Cyfield Group, the company carrying out the major project.
It is recalled that the works were carried out from 2 November 2022 to 30 September 2024. During this time, the contractor has managed to build a modern building that will house a 50-bed emergency room, multifunctional rooms, offices for medical staff, creative workshops for occupational therapy classes, a 20-bed unit for drug addicts, a rehabilitation unit for alcoholics, outpatient clinics and even a gym. For the convenience of staff and patients, a large car park has been built close to the centre.
The new building is expected to help rehabilitate and reintegrate people with mental disorders into society.
The total cost of the project is estimated at 12 million euros + VAT. Of this amount, 6 million 800 thousand euros have been allocated by the European Economic Recovery Fund. It should be noted that the building will be maintained by a contractor for 12 years. Cyfield Group noted that the project was carried out to the highest standards. The developer has done everything possible to create comfortable conditions for both patients and staff.
