On Wednesday 12 February, the Cyprus Environment Ministry approved a project to convert an existing tourist apartment complex into a 4-star hotel in Polis Chrysochous.
The property in question is the former Elia Latsi Holiday Village Resort, which will be completely renovated and renamed the Leonardo Club Family Resort. According to an environmental study submitted to the ministry by Fattal Latsi Ltd, the total cost of the project is estimated at 55 million euros. It will take 18 months to complete once the necessary permits have been obtained.
After modernisation, the new hotel complex will consist of 18 blocks, of which 11 will be for tourist use, 5 for public use, 1 for control and 1 for sports. The project will be energy class A. The new hotel will have 240 comfortable double rooms with 480 beds. In addition, each room will have an extra bed so that the hotel can accommodate up to 720 guests at the same time. The total built area will be 6,477.55 m2 and the living area will be 7,750 m2.
