Ayia Napa Municipality has announced a tender for the construction of a new multifunctional park in town.
According to the release of the local mayor's office, the project will be implemented on a plot of land with a total area of 34 thousand m2, which is located near the center of the tourist zone.
According to the idea, a spiral-shaped pedestrian network will be created in Ayia Napa, along which the necessary infrastructure and spaces for various activities and uses will be equipped.
The new park will include a central square, an artificial lake, a botanical garden, a mosaic park, a children's playground and, at the highest point, an observatory that will offer stunning panoramic views of the city and the sea. In addition, the eastern part of the project will function as an open market to sell local products.
Interested parties can apply for the project until April 22.
The construction cost of the new park is estimated at 3.625 million euros. The money for the project will be allocated within the THALEIA Cohesion Policy Program for 2021-2027. The construction of the park will start in the middle of 2024. The project will be put into operation by the end of 2025 at the latest.
