The municipality of Polis Chrysochous announced that a modern municipal kindergarten will soon appear on the territory of the village.
On Thursday, December 28, the mayor of the village, Iotis Papachristofi, signed a contract worth 25 thousand euros with the company OCD+A Studio, which was entrusted with the preparation of the relevant tender documents.
In parallel, the mayor's office submitted an application to the Deputy Ministry of Social Welfare for the financing of the project from the Recovery and Sustainability Plan 2021-2026.
A tender to find a contractor is expected to be issued in the first half of 2024. The cost of erecting the kindergarten is estimated at 800 thousand euros.
According to the idea, the building is designed in the form of several functional blocks - from two to three floors. Light decorative plaster and concrete tiles of white, gray and brown colors are used as the main facing materials. A bright element of the facades will be projecting window frames of different colors. The modern look of the building will be complemented by windows of different sizes and a two-light entrance group. The new kindergarten will have several groups, as well as rooms for sports and music. All rooms will be equipped with modern furniture and necessary equipment.
Let us remind you that several other large-scale infrastructure projects are currently being implemented in the region. Among the most significant ones are the construction of the Paphos - Polis Chrysochous highway and the Polis Chrysochous - Latchi pedestrian street.
The length of the Paphos - Polis Chrysochous highway will be 31 km. The first phase, which is now in the active phase of implementation, involves the construction of a 15.5 km two-lane highway from Agia Marinouda to Stroumbi, the creation of traffic circles in Tsada and Stroumbi, two tunnels 720 meters long and five bridges 290 meters long, two overpasses and nine underpasses. The cost of the project is estimated at 86.84 million euros.
In turn, the length of the pedestrian street Polis Chrysochous - Latchi will be 3.2 kilometers. It will connect two very important tourist locations in the Paphos area. For the realization of the idea was allocated a sponsorship of 1.2 million euros.
Also soon on the north-western coast of Cyprus, along the bed of the Chrysochou river, will be equipped with a large-scale linear park. It will start at Camping Site Polis Chrisochous. Its length will be 11 kilometers. Along the bed of the Chrysochous River there will be benches, modern street lighting, a children's playground, food stands, sanitary facilities, wooden pedestrian bridges and viewing platforms.
