The construction of the new Olympus factory in Nicosia has been completed. It took about two years to complete this major project.
The architectural design of the project was developed by Zenonos Architects and the construction was entrusted to Psaras Construction.
On Wednesday, October 16, in the capital of Cyprus, the inauguration of the most technologically advanced and largest dairy plant in Cyprus took place. The plant is located in the industrial area of the Tseri district. The building consists of three floors, a mezzanine and a parking lot. The total built-up area is more than 30 thousand m2.
The new plant includes a loading and unloading area, production area, offices, milk storage, mixing and processing area, kitchen-restaurant, reception area, workshops, staff entrance, toilets and parking. According to the owner, the plant will be supplied with milk from local producers with whom the company has already signed cooperation and development agreements. It will be used to produce various products that will be supplied to the island's shops.
Access to Olympus will be through the existing Eleftheriou Venizelou Street. It is worth noting that the area adjacent to the new factory is sparsely developed, with a few vacant lots in the vicinity. The area is mainly occupied by industrial facilities: a furniture factory and car repair shops. To the west of the area, at a distance of 2 km, is the village of Ceri.
The cost of the project is estimated at 70 million euros, of which 42 million euros were provided by the National Bank of Greece. This initiative not only demonstrates the financial strength of the Bank, but also the significant contribution of the financial institution to the development of the national economy of Cyprus.
