The Cyprus Department of Environment has granted a permit for the construction and operation of Hadassah Healthcare Park, a large-scale medical center in the Agia Paraskevi area of Nicosia.
Osopil Ltd. plans to invest €150 million in the project.
According to the press release, the medical complex will consist of several key facilities. These include:
- A private hospital with 156 beds for inpatients.
- The building will also house diagnostic, oncology, emergency, and surgical departments.
- A medical university for 900 students.
- A five-story office building for biotechnology research.
- There will also be a six-story dormitory with 232 beds for students and interns, as well as ground parking areas for the convenience of visitors, employees, and students.
Notably, photovoltaic panels will be installed on the roofs of all facilities to ensure a sustainable energy supply. Preparation for construction will include:
- Earthworks and laying utilities (water supply, sewage, and electricity).
- Construction of the foundations and the above- and underground levels of the buildings.
- Installation of internal and external engineering systems will also be included.
The total project implementation period will be 24 months.
The Hadassah Healthcare Park is in an excellent location with developed urban infrastructure. The Lakamia Stadium is 440 m northwest of the construction site, the picturesque Lake Mangli is 650 m away, and a linear park along the Pedieos River is 520 m away.
Hadassah Healthcare Park will be more than just a hospital. It will be a multifunctional medical and educational hub combining clinical practice, scientific research, university training, and commercial activities in biotechnology. This project is expected to boost economic activity and create new jobs in Nicosia, improving the standard of living and healthcare in the region.
