Larnaca Municipality has announced a tender to find a contractor to manage the building in the newly inaugurated Salina Municipal Park.
Applications from interested parties will be accepted until 20 January. Applications can be submitted online at www.eprocurement.gov.cy.
For further information or clarification, contact the municipality's tender office on 24 816574. The results of the tender should be available by the end of January. The idea is to open a café for visitors in the commercial area of the new public space.
Recall that Salina Park was put into operation at the end of November 2024.
Its area is more than 14 thousand m2. The new public space is located in the Drosha neighbourhood, on the site of the former residence of the Larnaca police chief. It is an extension of the existing municipal park of the coastal city. There is a pond with a fountain, an amphitheatre, a promenade and a children's playground. 200 trees have been planted. The park is equipped to become a comfortable place for leisure, sport and recreation for the city's residents. In addition, the project takes into account accessible infrastructure for people with disabilities.
The large-scale project was designed by Elena Sofianu Olimpiu. In 2020, she won the architectural competition that became the basis for the creation of the new park. Olimpiu was the author of the project. The realisation of the idea was entrusted to the consortium Wade Adams Contracting (Cyprus) Limited - AKI Constructions Ltd JV. In January 2023, the Larnaca Municipality signed a contract with this organisation for the construction work, which took more than a year. The project cost €2.5 million. Part of the funding came from the EU's European Regional Development Fund.
