The Department of Environmental Protection has granted permission for the construction of the Larnaca Tower high-rise.
This was announced on Thursday 10 October by Lanomex Development Ltd, which owns the project.
According to the announcement, the building will have 28 floors. It will be built next to Finikoudes, on the site of the Hobos restaurant. The height of the tower will be 109 metres. It will be equipped with luxury apartments, commercial premises, restaurants and cafes, offices and a health centre. A spacious car park and green areas, as well as indoor and outdoor swimming pools, will be provided for the convenience of residents. Interested buyers will have access to 60 one-bedroom apartments, 62 two-bedroom apartments and 20 three-bedroom apartments on floors 7-28.
The total built-up area will be 3,150 m2. Photovoltaic panels will be installed on the roof of the building, which will cover the energy needs of the proposed project.
It should be noted that this is the second attempt to build Larnaca Tower. The first application by a Russian investor was for a 30-storey tower and a 10-storey 5-star hotel. However, the department did not approve it and the project was put on hold for two years.
The developer is expected to start construction of the new skyscraper in Larnaca after receiving all the necessary documents.
Prior to the start of the project, demolition work will be carried out on the development site. The relevant permits have already been obtained. Construction of the tower will take approximately three years. The project will be located on the first coast line, just 250 metres from the sea. It should be noted that Larnaca Tower will be the tallest building in the city. This title is currently held by the 16-storey Radisson Blue Hotel.
The cost of the Larnaca Tower project is estimated at 100 million euros.
