In my opinion for a vacation with kids it is ideal when the cafe is on the sea, it is ideal when children are playing, digging in the sand, and you can quietly work, sit with friends or just exhale. Luckily, such ideal places exist. One of the most favorite beaches of all kids is Mackenzie in Larnaca. Firstly this beach is located right by the runway of Larnaca International Airport. During the summer tourist season, airplanes come in for landing every five minutes. They roar right over the surf, allowing you to see all the details and the airline's logo. In turn, when you're on an airplane coming in for a landing, you can see in detail the people sunbathing on the beach and how they wave hello to you from the surface. This cafe has two whole playgrounds. One is located inside the premises. The playground is carefully covered with soundproof thick glass so as not to deafen customers with the squeals of youngsters. In this glass aquarium, you can watch from a safe distance as your children test the strength of the maze and ball pool.
The second playground is right across the street, on the beach. The main entertainment on it is the bungee jump. An indispensable trainer of social skills. Such as "agree to take turns" and "bring the bungee to the next person when you have taken a ride". It's great that Larnka has a lot of Cypriots on site and you can still practice Greek in the process. Kids from different language backgrounds mix and learn to make friends together.
The whole place is covered with shade from the searing Cypriot sun, and the tables are placed side by side on a planked floor, which is great for crawling barefoot on if you haven't learned otherwise.
On the menu are the popular triangular standees, fries, and colas. Breakfast options include eggs Benedict with salad, scrambled eggs, or pancakes with strawberry jam.
The TVs usually show soccer games for dads. A good place to organize a children's birthday party here and spend a day off.

- 2. South Coast Specialty Coffee
Next to Food Park City, there is another children's cafe on McKenzie Beach that has a larger indoor play area for kids, which can be very valuable in the heat because it's air-conditioned inside.
This is a great place for all types of customers as it can cater to all tastes and requests. You can have a relaxing drink on the beach, or sit in the cool of a private lounge. For families with children, there is a separate room where you can have a coffee while your kids play. By the way, in the reviews on Tripadvisor, several people mentioned exactly the delicious and quality coffee at a great price.
South Coast offers quality ice cream and sweets, as well as snacks. Your kids can have their pancakes made right in front of their eyes, topped with their favorite ice cream, and thickly drizzled with chocolate cream. Adults can order the macha on coconut and salad. The only thing I didn't like was that the children's area required kids to wear socks. In the heat, understandably, no one has them and the cafe sells their own. Expensive and terrible quality. Let's hope that this matter has already been solved.
- 3. Fun Factory
Very good place for kids. A large enough "maze" area where kids can have fun for hours, as well as an area with trampolines, arcade machines and areas for the youngest can keep kids entertained all day long. There is also a small cafe where parents can sit and feed their children. Good children's menu, and reasonable prices. On Tuesday and Thursday, the entrance to the children's center is free. It seems to be the only place in Larnaca where you can organize leisure time for children in the summer heat.
The area of the children's center is relatively small, only one floor and it is quite densely built up. There is also a cafeteria there, and many people come there to celebrate birthdays. I liked the staff, which is quite fast. And yes - it is very noisy, especially on weekends.
Based on Fun Factory site they organize a summer camp where children can play, do creative work, and make crafts.
The food in the cafe is tasty and reasonably priced. The menu includes ubiquitous fries, nuggets and pizza. From drinks traditional juices, cola and coffee for adults, and for dessert they offer the favorite lava cake. The cafe is always air-conditioned and has a TV, which broadcasts something from the soccer or music channel.

- 4. Burger King
The location of this chain restaurant on Larnaca's main promenade, Finikoudes, is excellent. And most importantly the large playground inside the establishment with a rather large maze where kids can have fun. In summertime, it is good to hide in this restaurant from the heat. The cafe is located on two floors with a terrace and from the second floor there is a romantic view of the Mediterranean Sea and yachts, which, it should be noted, does not fit with the branded shouting packaging of the fast food chain. The guests note in their reviews rather low prices, at the same time excellent menu and tasty food. They mean traditional for this chain of restaurants fried potatoes and burgers with different fillings. Only in Cyprus at Burger King, you can try a burger with local halloumi cheese. For dessert, they have ice cream and lava cake.
After visiting this restaurant you can enjoy a stroll along the promenade overlooking the Pierides Museum and the Bank of Cyprus Cultural Foundation.
- 5. Agiou Georiou Cafe
Lastly, I will share with you a real find, a cafe I recently discovered in the large playground of Agiou Georious. It is located near the Lyceum of the same name and the church of Agios Georgios. The playground is large, on artificial grass, and there is something for everyone to do, from toddlers to parents. The playground is surrounded by a fence and has a large parking lot, making it very accessible to everyone.
On the playground, you will find swings, roundabouts and slides for the little ones. For bigger kids, there are also swings, climbing structures, and a zipline. One of the advantages of this playground is that there are three mini soccer fields and one basketball and tennis field nearby. If you're thinking of playing with your big kids, be sure to bring your racquets and balls.
There is plenty of room to run, bike, roller skate or scooter along the paths that crisscross the sports fields.
The cafe proper does not feature a varied menu. It sells coffee, sandwiches, chips, juice and packaged snacks as usual.
An outdoor playground for kids next to the cafe, is one of the main reasons for parents to spend their day there. Playing outside is the best medicine for kids when they need to shake off a residual cold or dump excess energy and then sleep well through the night. If you live in Larnaca or are just passing through and have the kids with you, I suggest you don't miss the cafe and playground next to Agios Georgiou Kontou Church. It's a great place!
