TOP 15 Most Unusual Hotels in the World

Some travelers choose a hotel based on the principle of "just to have a place to sleep". Others look for a cozy house for a while. Others generally believe that the hotel itself is already an entertainment and an important part of the vacation. Exactly for such people, we present our TOP. It contains the most unusual hotels from all over the world and, of course, we have not forgotten about Cyprus!

Woodlyn Park, Otorohanga, New Zealand

A former farm and now Woodlyn Park Hotel is ideal for those who want to get a closer look at the way of life of native New Zealanders. Here you can learn how to shear sheep (did you know that most merino sheep are bred in Australia and New Zealand?), do farm work and even ride a cow!

The hotel itself is a retreat, close to nature and at the same time very unusual. The thing is that there are no buildings as such. The hotel rooms are an old converted car, airplane and steamship. For fans of Tolkien's work - separate "dugouts", similar to hobbit houses. Prices for a night are not so great, they vary from 140 dollars, and the “hobbit houses” from $190.

Chateau de Bagnols, Bagnols (Lyon), France

Chateau de Bagnols is an ancient 13th-century castle that has been one of the most beautiful hotels in France for 30 years. It is also considered a historical monument and is therefore kept in perfect condition.

The main "highlight" of Chateau de Bagnol is the complete stylization of medieval decoration with modern amenities. The guests of the hotel will definitely feel like royalty! The hotel offers horseback riding, hot air ballooning, golf and tennis, wine tasting and much more. There is also a fine restaurant on the premises.

Special attention should be paid to the garden: at different times of the year, shrubs, trees, and flowers bloom, while real professionals work on the landscape. The price for one night can be about 300 dollars in season, in off-season the cost will be smaller.

Huilo Huilo Montaña Magica, Panguipulli, Chile

This hotel is a true work of art, but it's hard to call it an architectural marvel. Because, no matter how you look at it, it looks more like it was created by nature than by human hands. Montaña Magica is a hotel in the forest that merges with it. Presented as a high slide covered in moss and bathed by a waterfall, it resembles an illustration from a fairy tale.

The inside of Montaña Magica is every bit as good as the outside. The common areas are finished in wood and have a whimsical, not at all geometric shape. The rooms are more conventional, but also retain the overall concept of the hotel.

The price per night ranges from around $175-200 dollars depending on the season. Remember: Chile is in the southern hemisphere, so the off-season here is summer.

Museum Hotel, Ukhcisar (Cappadocia), Turkey

Part of the hotel is located right in the mountain, that is, in a cave. And although everything is quite comfortable inside the rooms of the Museum Hotel, the feeling is still very unusual. The rooms have impressive finishes, and there are antique furnishings.

The common areas for guests, as well as the restaurant and heated pool, are upstairs. From here you can enjoy wonderful views of the mountains and the surrounding nature. Prices here are quite high: they start at around $400 per night and can go up to $700 during the summer season.

TreeHotel, Harads, Sweden

A treehouse is the dream of many grown adults…and many hotels around the world have decided to make this dream come true. Tree houses can be found in different parts of the world, but in Sweden they have solved the problem in the most beautiful, interesting and modern way possible.

Each of the houses in TreeHotel is special. One of them is mirrored and is almost lost among the trees. Another is an alien saucer. The third is a mysterious and futuristic sphere. The fourth is a "nest"! The fifth is a blue cone that is actually red. There are also more familiar tree huts. Also on site are a guest house with small rooms, a sauna, a restaurant and entertainment services such as dog sledding.

The price per night starts at 600 dollars, which is certainly not insignificant. However, the nature of Sweden, removed from civilization, is worth it.

Igloo Village Kakslauttanen, Saariselkä (Lapland), Finland

In an igloo, but with comfort and stunning views! Igloo Village Kakslauttanen consists of 20 glass igloos and several chalets. Of course, the latter are not in such high demand, especially in winter. The thing is that igloos with a glass ceiling allow not only to live in a cool place, but also to comfortably observe the northern lights.

In addition, the complex offers really interesting entertainment: reindeer, dog and snowmobile riding, smoke sauna, ice fishing. Children will love the ice chapel and the magic town. The price in the highest season (i.e., winter, when the northern lights are most common) is $300-$400 per day.

Hobbit House, Montana, USA

Of course, in America they quickly enough thought of making a hotel based on Tolkien's works. Hobbit House is located in a picturesque place far from noisy cities, so here you can not only plunge into a fairy tale, but also just relax your soul.

The rooms are comfortable and quite familiar, though not devoid of atmospheric decoration.

Nimb, Copenhagen, Denmark

It is surprising that in the northern European country, the hotel is built in the form of a Moorish palace! But perhaps that's why it's so popular. And it looks, to put it bluntly, amazing: it is simply impossible to pass by! The interior decoration fully corresponds to the exterior: luxury, emphasized by antique furniture, and subtle beauty in the details distinguish the rooms.

There is also a restaurant here, which residents of the Danish capital have appreciated for over 100 years. The Tivolu Gardens amusement park is not far away. In short, it is really worth visiting here! However, the prices in Nimb are "royal": you will have to pay from 550 to 1100 dollars per night.

Skylodge Adventure Suites, Cusco, Peru

A capsule hotel, a hotel in a rock - all this is not new. However, in Peru this idea has been brought to the maximum - both the idea and execution. Glass "houses" are glued to a cliff and are located at a height of 400 meters above the ground! Those who have a strong fear of heights should not even consider spending the night here.

Logically, you will have to get to Skylodge Adventure Suites also on the rock: to do this you need to overcome the via ferrata. In short, it's an adventure! Adrenaline lovers will be delighted. Prices for a night start from 500 dollars per person, but this includes a transfer, a luxurious dinner, and even the services of a guide.

Atomium Kidsphere, Brussels, Belgium

The hotel is made in the form of an iron molecule and is one of the main attractions of Brussels. You bet, such a project is not so difficult to come up with, but to realize. However, the architect Andre Waterkein has done a great job.

The name Kidsphere emphasizes that the hotel is happy to welcome its young guests. The thing is that one of the nine spheres is allocated for a children's playroom, which turns into a bedroom at night. Parents can leave their children here at night under the supervision of a nanny. And during the day the kids can listen to interesting lectures about Belgium and get acquainted with the culture of this country.

Giraffe Manor, Nairobi, Kenya

From the name, it becomes clear that the main feature of the hotel is giraffes. But it should be emphasized that these giraffes are very sociable and omnipresent! They can look into the guests' room or even ask what they eat for dinner. In short, the owners at Giraffe Manor are not human at all.

Also on the territory of the hotel elephants are nursed and all sorts of animals are welcome. Animal lovers will definitely like Giraffe Manor - animals here are accustomed to humans and willingly go to contact with him. The price for friendship with giraffes and other inhabitants of Africa is not so small - about 900 dollars per person, but it is all-inclusive.

Yellow Sub Liverpool, Liverpool, UK

To live in that "yellow submarine" from the Beatles' song is not a fairy tale, but a reality! All you need to do is to come to Liverpool, the birthplace of the four. It is impossible to pass by Yellow Sub: it is so bright and yellow that on a sunny day it cuts your eyes.

The rooms inside are no less interesting. All of them correspond to the declared theme and partly repeat the interior of the 60s, partly just hint at the Beatles. In short, Beatle fans will be delighted! The price for a day starts from 550 dollars.

Punta Grande, Canary Islands, Spain

From Spanish punta grande translates as "big tip", but it doesn't mean anything - it only hints at the location. Moreover, the hotel can hardly even be called a hotel: it is a tiny house without special services and entertainment, far away from civilization. It would seem: why come here?

The fact is that the Hotel Punta Grande is located on one of the small islands, among the rocks, on the shore of the rough sea. Literally on the edge of the earth. And they go there to be hermits in the truest sense of the word. The only entertainment here is watching the sea, and birds, going to the restaurant... and fishing. Prices for a room start from 200 euros.

Crazy House, Dalat, Vietnam

By the name, it immediately becomes clear that the hotel looks unusual. And in Dalat, where colonial austere architecture prevails, Crazy House looks really crazy! Strangely, many locals think the hotel is ugly. But not its owner and co-creator. She lives, by the way, in the second floor of her hotel.

Crazy House is as amazing on the inside as it is on the outside. Guest houses and rooms have fun decorations and themes. There is also a honeymoon suite! However, you can just visit the hotel as a tour. Curiously, the prices here are quite low - a night in a room will cost less than 100 dollars.

Roman Hotel, Paphos, Cyprus

Roman Hotel is one of the most atmospheric not only in Paphos, but in the whole of Cyprus. Its distinct Mediterranean architecture is more Spanish than Greek-Cypriot, though the theme is Greek.

The grounds with patio, restaurant and swimming pool are buried in greenery and flowers, and the rooms are strikingly decorated with references to ancient Greece. Curiously, the Tombs of the Kings are nearby, and you can also walk to Faros Beach and Paphos Archaeological Park.
