The Most Popular Hangout Spots in Ayia Napa

During the summer and early autumn, the coastal Ayia Napa hardly ever sleeps.

Enthusiasts of active nightlife from all over Europe gather here, along with trendy DJs, to light up the dance floors of the most cheerful city on the island of Aphrodite.

Day and night, there are plenty of entertainments here. We recommend starting your evening with a stroll through the Sculpture Park at sunset or heading to the picturesque Cape Greco. In the center, from 6 in the evening, the island's largest amusement park, Parko Paliatso, opens its doors. And if you don't mind getting your hair wet, you can visit the Water Sculpture Museum.

Closer to midnight, the nightclubs start to come alive, with most of them located on Agios Mavris Street, near the famous Ayia Napa Monastery.

Ayia Napa's Most Popular Establishments:

Senior Frog's Party Bar

This club is located in the heart of the nightlife street Agias Mavris. We'll mention right away that those with delicate sensibilities may want to steer clear and continue their stroll along the party street. But if you enjoy a mix of dynamic music from the past two decades, tracks changing every 15 seconds, fantastic train-style dancing, and laser beams in your eyes, then don't miss it! The club celebrates all calendar holidays, even those you've probably never heard of, with fireworks and confetti.

Surprisingly, some partygoers don't mind bringing their younger ones here. Well, it's like an amusement park! The place is compact, with the indoor area accommodating no more than 150 people, and a small veranda for a maximum of 16 persons. And yes, it's genuinely fun, as seen from the happy faces of the revelers. The club firmly holds the top spot in the ratings.

The Castle Club

The club is rightfully considered the epicenter of the city's nightlife. There's no dress code or face control. At least three DJs play simultaneously on three levels, ensuring there's a melody for every dance style. Additionally, the club boasts the largest open terrace in Ayia Napa and a luxurious VIP room.

At the end of October, Castle annually hosts a Halloween-themed party that attracts all the local witches with their warlocks. Typically, this celebration marks the end of Ayia Napa's noisy club season.

The Square Bar

The Square Bar, located at the corner just in front of the Ayia Napa Monastery entrance, is known as the best live music venue for miles around. During the high season, it's packed every evening, weekdays and weekends alike. The venue attracts the most talented cover musicians from the UK, ranging from dynamic acoustic duos to energetic quartets. The show starts every evening from 8:30 PM and goes on until dawn.

The bar offers a wide range of drinks, and the kitchen, open throughout the night, fuels the dance floor. It's an excellent place to relax and socialize with friends. A pro tip for those who seek solitude: you can listen to soulful music while sitting on the cool historical bench opposite the Monastery.

Bedrock Inn

You surely remember the Flintstones cartoon. There's even a person who dedicated a party project to this theme. During the day, Bedrock Inn functions as a family restaurant with a fantastic playground in the backyard. The food is quite fitting for the Stone Age: juicy steaks with blood, sausages for beer, and a wide selection of fresh salads and snacks. They also have a standard Cypriot children's menu, including chicken nuggets, french fries, pizza, and pasta. In the indoor area, there's a small museum of marine finds and a couple of toy dinosaur skeletons. Maybe even not just toys! Kids will appreciate it. At night, the crowd changes significantly. Around 7-8 in the evening, live music plays, and later, the DJ takes the stage. The dress code is quite relaxed. Flip-flops with beach shorts won't be out of place, but you can choose something a bit fancier.

Red Square Bar

A place for those who enjoy relaxing elegantly and lounging comfortably. The façade is adorned with Kremlin towers made of cardboard and a five-pointed star, which, due to recent events, have awkwardly been covered with curtains. Given the love of many Cypriots for Moscow, this place can't be called exclusively Russian; it's quite multicultural. However, there are no laser beams in your eyes, only a sultry cloud of stage smoke creates the right atmosphere.

DJs primarily play lounge compositions, sometimes mixing in modern and retro Russian tracks. At these moments, the crowd becomes a bit livelier, but after a while, it returns to conversations about the fate of their homeland. It's a peaceful place without unnecessary hustle and bustle. For your comfort, we recommend booking a table in advance for a couple of hours; you won't regret it, considering the wide selection of quality drinks and unobtrusive, delicate service.

Paddy's Irish Bar

The most popular Irish-style establishment is located not far from Senior Frog's Party Bar, on the same Agias Mavris Street. The menu features not only fresh malt beverages, cocktails, and wines but also food for those who don't mind having dinner after 7 in the evening. High-quality live music attracts people with refined tastes, not just beer lovers. The concerts are on par with The Square Bar, and sometimes even more powerful.

Sesoula Kalamaki

A cozy venue in traditional Cypriot style where you can enjoy good Mediterranean cuisine to the tune of melodious and calm radio waves. The portions are generous, and the prices are pleasant. Sitting in good company, you can easily spend the entire evening here. Alternatively, you can take an aromatic gyro with you - grilled meat with vegetables wrapped in traditional flatbread - and continue your quest for adventure.

Encore

A versatile option for any party night. The music lineup consists of hits from various musical genres. There's a large dance floor where you can dance until dawn or move on to your next destination.

Pirates Dance Bar

Pirates Inn is located in the heart of Ayia Napa and is open year-round. Here, you'll find games, entertainment, music with guest DJs who make every night special. In 'Pirates,' no two nights are the same, and you'll remember your night here for a long time, my little troublemakers.

Hard Rock Cafe

A popular chain restaurant of American cuisine that never disappoints. The music is great, and the service is of high quality without unexpected surprises. Hard Rock Cafe is located on Makariou shopping street, a minute's walk from Agios Mavris club street and Ayia Napa Monastery. Prices for food and drinks are slightly above average for the city. The establishment's website occasionally announces cool events, but unfortunately, they happen very rarely.
