The global trend towards the construction of high-rise buildings has not left the island of Cyprus untouched. Increasingly, such buildings serve as markers of an era and prominent landmarks in the urban landscape. The construction of skyscrapers combines modern materials and technologies with the most daring architectural ideas and allows us to appreciate the growing economic potential of the country. This blog presents a number of high-rise projects that will grace the cities of Cyprus for the foreseeable future.

A new luxury residential development called Aura will take the place of the ERA Olympia shopping centre 50m from the Limassol seafront. The 46-storey building, with more than 32,000 m2 of residential space, will be the tallest in Cyprus. Designed by British architects Fosters + Partners, the modern, eco-friendly 185-metre skyscraper will be harmoniously integrated into the urban environment.
The building will use natural ventilation to reduce energy consumption and carbon emissions. The 136 luxury apartments, ranging from two to four bedrooms, are oriented so that they all have views of the sea. For the residents of the complex, the lower levels of the building will include: commercial space, recreation area, fitness centre, swimming pool, individual storage rooms, concierge service and parking.
