Pelican restaurant

The restaurant of sea cuisine is located in the harbor near the Archaeological Park. Despite the typical coastal establishment entourage, Pelican's history is quite intriguing. In 1957, the Aphrodite Restaurant opened on this spot, where fishermen and sailors from anchored ships gathered. In 10 years fishermen brought here a beautiful but exhausted after flying from Africa - pelican, where he safely took root and received the name Coco. Soon the institution changed the owner and at the same time the name Aphrodite to Pelican. Unfortunately, the bird died in a car accident 5 years later, and 2 years later the restaurant was destroyed during the Turkish invasion of the island. In 1975 Pelican was completely restored, and to this day the winged pets are still living here and have become its permanent symbol. The facility's specialties are fish chips, grilled octopus, and oysters. Light white or pink wines go well with them, and many people prefer Pelikan specialty cocktails. The children's menu makes the facility suitable for family dinners. The restaurant has excellent service and pleasant prices.
