Cyprus Department of Environment has approved the construction of a new office building in the capital of Cyprus.
The 10-story Malcolm Tower is expected to appear in the Pindarou Street area of Nicosia, on a corner plot that is currently being used as a parking lot.
The construction of the building will begin this year. The final work schedule will be announced shortly.
According to the release, the project was developed by the head of the architectural bureau Kythreotis Architects LLC Charilaos Cythreotes. The total height of the building will be about 40 meters above ground level. A distinctive feature of the skyscraper will be a snow-white facade, decorated with green plants.
According to the architect, the construction of Malcolm Tower will mark the transition in Cyprus from the automotive era in urban planning to planning centered on people, their health and the preservation of the climate.
It is worth noting that the owner of Malcolm Tower is an individual - a citizen of Cyprus, who attracted funds from local investors for the construction of the building.
