On October 28, the Seven Stars Luxury Hospitality and Lifestyle Awards ceremony occurred in Crete. For the 11th time, the judges chose the best of the best in luxury tourism. About City of Dreams Mediterranean project
As a reminder, the project was launched in 2017. Initially, City of Dreams Mediterranean was supposed to open to the public in 2021. The casino resort, owned by a consortium of Melco International Development Ltd and The Cyprus Phassouri (Zakaki) Limited, is located next to the New Port in Limassol (between Akrotiri Salt Lake and My Mall).
City of Dreams Mediterranean includes a 14-storey luxury hotel with 500 rooms and suites, more than 8 thousand m2 of exhibition and conference halls, an outdoor amphitheater, a family adventure park, a spa center, as well as many fine restaurants and luxury stores. The interior design of the building is based on Melco's international luxury standards, specially adapted for a Cypriot resort, while the exterior design is characterized by a distinct Mediterranean influence. The casino is part of the luxury hotel. It features 136 gambling tables and 1,200 machines.
City of Dreams Mediterranean is the largest investment project ever undertaken in Cyprus. Its cost is estimated at more than 650 million euros. According to the estimates of the government of Cyprus, City of Dreams Mediterranean will bring to the treasury of the country up to 700 million euros every year. This is 4% of the entire GDP of the Republic of Cyprus. In addition, City of Dreams Mediterranean will attract an additional 300 thousand tourists to the island per year, which will help to solve the problem of seasonality of tourism.
