At one of the most famous resorts in Cyprus — Anassa — a major renovation has been completed. On Friday, March 27, the hotel officially reopens after a large-scale refurbishment. The full upgrade affected almost all key areas of the complex, allowing the space to be reimagined and the level of service to be elevated to a new level.
The resort, which is part of the prestigious association The Leading Hotels of the World, is once again welcoming guests, offering not just a seaside holiday, but a modern format of luxury with an emphasis on comfort, privacy, and aesthetics.
The renovation, which cost more than 10 million euros, became part of a major investment program aimed at strengthening Cyprus’s position as a sought-after destination for premium tourism. According to experts, the luxury hotel segment in the region continues to actively develop, attracting travelers seeking seclusion, high-quality service, and natural authenticity.
Large-scale upgrade and modern design
The first stage of reconstruction affected the hotel’s key areas, including rooms, suites, and private villas. In total, more than seventy accommodation spaces were completely renovated and now meet modern standards of comfort and aesthetics.
In collaboration with the international architectural bureau Yabu Pushelberg, the interiors have acquired a lighter and more contemporary character. Natural materials, soft tones, and Mediterranean-style elements were used in the design, creating an atmosphere of calm and coziness.
Special attention was paid to bathrooms and outdoor spaces. The central terrace received updated furniture and became even more attractive thanks to panoramic views of the Mediterranean Sea. All this enhances the sense of privacy and harmony with nature — key factors that travelers value today.

Gastronomy of a new level
After the renovation, the hotel’s gastronomic concept has seen notable development. A new restaurant has appeared at Anassa with an approach to grilling, where the focus is on the freshest seafood and high-quality meat.
At the same time, the hotel preserves its gastronomic traditions. Guests can still enjoy refined Mediterranean cuisine with French notes, Asian dishes, and authentic Cypriot meze. This balance between classics and modern trends makes Anassa attractive to a wide audience of discerning tourists. Modern travelers are increasingly choosing hotels based on the gastronomic experience, and the updated hotel confidently meets this demand.
Traditions of hospitality and a new approach to leisure
The luxurious 5-star hotel remains part of the Thanos Hotels & Resorts group, which has been shaping hospitality standards in Cyprus for more than half a century. The brand’s philosophy is built on respect for local culture, attention to detail, and creating a truly comfortable atmosphere for guests.
Despite the updates, Anassa retains its unique identity. The architecture of the complex still resembles a traditional Cypriot village with white buildings, green gardens, and blooming bougainvillea. The new concept emphasizes not only luxury but also mindful relaxation.
Cyprus strengthens its position in the luxury tourism segment
The reopening of the renovated Anassa hotel comes amid growing interest in Cyprus as a premium destination. The island continues to attract tourists thanks to its mild climate, high level of safety, and developed infrastructure.
Experts note that investments in hotel modernization are becoming a key factor in competitiveness. Renovations not only improve service levels but also help meet new guest expectations related to sustainability, technology, and a personalized approach. In addition, the development of such projects supports the country’s economy, creates jobs, and strengthens Cyprus’s tourism brand on the international stage.
