In Frenaros, construction of a modern Youth Park — a new public space for young people — will begin soon. The park will appear on territory that is part of the Paralimni-Deryneia municipality and will become a new attraction point for young residents of the entire district.
The idea of creating the park was officially confirmed during a recent meeting between representatives of the municipality and the head of the Frenaros youth association, Athanasios Trifonos, where they discussed planning details and the next stages of work. Notably, the project has already moved into the practical phase and is currently being prepared for active implementation.
Who is implementing the project and under what conditions
The Youth Park will be implemented as part of the Young Cities program — an initiative aimed at involving young people in the development of their communities. The program is promoted by the Cyprus National Betting Authority together with the Cyprus Youth Organization. These organizations provide institutional and financial support, as well as coordinate project implementation.
The contract for carrying out the work was signed on January 9, 2026, at the office of the Cyprus National Betting Authority. This means that the project is officially approved and secured with the necessary funding. The Paralimni-Deryneia municipality also provides direct support for the initiative, confirming the interest of local authorities in developing youth infrastructure.
When the new park will open
According to the approved schedule, completion of construction and the opening of the Youth Park are planned for September 2026. Until that time, work will be carried out to arrange the territory, create recreation areas, and establish spaces for events.
It is expected that the new park will become a modern space for meetings, cultural and educational initiatives, as well as active leisure. Authorities emphasize that the project is being developed taking into account the proposals of young people themselves, which makes it especially significant for the local community.
