The new bus station in Paphos was officially opened on Monday 25 September.
It cost 3 million euros to build.
The beautiful modern building adorns the Caravella district. It is the largest bus terminal in Cyprus and was built on the site of a former municipal car park.
The bus terminal serves both urban and intercity routes. Some 400-500 passengers are expected to pass through it every day.
The new bus station building is equipped with comfortable seating, an information board with timetables and a television. A loudspeaker has also been installed to inform passengers.
.
The new bus station is part of a major project to develop the public transport network in Paphos and Geroskipou, with a total budget of €7.6 million.
At the same time, the new bus station is key to revitalising economic activity in the historic centre of Paphos. Hundreds of thousands of foreign and local tourists are expected to use the terminal as a major transport hub.
It is worth noting that in addition to the new bus station, two transit stations will soon be opened in the Caravella area, one on Tafon ton Vasileon avenue and the other in the car park of the Archaeological Park in Kato Paphos. There will also be 196 smart bus stops and 30 new public toilets in Paphos and Geroskipou.
