In recent years, Larnaca has been trying to keep up with other cities in Cyprus in terms of construction, so it is gradually increasing the pace of new development. We must admit, it does it well. Now, local authorities are considering dozens of applications for the construction of hotels and high-rises. Most of the projects are small traditional hotels and buildings up to ten stories high.
On Monday 30 August, S&H Parayialia Estates Ltd announced its intention to build a new 4-star hotel in Larnaca called the Parayialia Hotel.
The company recently submitted an application for consideration to the Cyprus Department of the Environment.
According to the release, the hotel will be located 2 km from Larnaca International Airport, on the Dromolaxia-Meneou road, on the shores of the Salt Lake, a place of public importance and a special protected area.
By the way, the road to Faros beach passes through this area; there is also a research center for marine aquaculture Meneou nearby, as well as a cafe and a restaurant on the way to the village of Dromolaxia.
The total area of the building site will be 29 thousand m2, the area of the building - 9505.07 m2, and covered verandas - 2338.93 m2.
The project provides for the construction of a 4-storey building with 196 rooms. The hotel will also include a reception, dining areas, kitchen, bars, gym, swimming pools, laundry, storage facilities, staff offices, spacious parking, landscaped gardens.
Construction of the project worth 15 million euros will begin in October next year. The Parayialia Hotel is expected to receive its first guests in April 2024.
The architectural composition of the complex will be of high quality in terms of functionality and aesthetics and is expected to improve the built environment and the aesthetics of the surrounding tourist area.
It is worth noting that due to the specific location of the proposed tourism project next to the Natura 2000 protected area, the architectural research and planning of the proposed development adopted spatial planning elements, management measures and operational methods aimed at minimizing the impacts and effects of the project on the environment.
The proposed tourism development project includes the planting of trees and shrubs around the development boundaries as well as other locations within the development boundaries.
